THE V EDITION OF MOSTRA DE CUINES DE CALVIÀ DE TARDOR HAS BEEN PRESENTED
It will take place every Friday in October in different areas of the municipality
The presentation of the V edition of autumn of Mostra de Cuines de Calvià, has taken place this midday in the Town Hall gardens.
The presentation was attended by the mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, members of the municipal corporation, organisers, participants and employees of the Calvià consistory.
The mayor has highlighted that, with this new edition, Calvià continues in its line of promotion as a destination with gastronomic appeal for tourists and visitors. The mayor has emphasised the importance of collaborating with the commercial fabric and dynamising social life in October and April through the organisation of the Mostres de Cuina.
This fifth edition of autumn starts tomorrow 6th October and will take place every Friday in October in the different areas where the municipality has been divided that cover practically all the coastal areas. 43 restaurants participate in this edition.
In the presentation, chef Kimberly Domínguez made a showcooking of the dish Fet a Sóller, which has red shrimp, orange, ramellet tomato, brown bread with squid ink, amongst other ingredients. Domínguez emphasises the commitment to fresh produce and Mediterranean inspiration.
Every Friday in October, all participating establishments will serve a full menu at popular prices (maximum 16 euros), and several of them will offer a children's menu, an alternative menu or a gluten-free menu. It is recommended to make the reservation in advance.
- 7 restaurants of Ca's Català, Bendinat, Portals Nous, Costa d'en Blanes, Son Caliu and Cala Fornells will take part on Friday 6th October.
- 14 restaurants of Palmanova, Magaluf and Son Ferrer will participate on Friday 13th October.
- 15 restaurants of Santa Ponça and Costa de la Calma will participate on Friday 20th October.
- 7 restaurants of El Toro and Peguera will participate on Friday 26th October.
The Mostra de Cuines de Calvià is one of the activities organised by Fundación Calvià in order to contribute to the deseasonalisation of the tourist season.
