THE DIRECTOR OF THE SOIB AND THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ PRESENT THE NEW "VISIBLE" AND "QUALIFIED YOUTH" PROJECTS THAT ARE HELD IN CALVIÀ AND THAT HAVE ALLOWED THE RECRUITMENT OF 48 PEOPLE WITHOUT WORK
The director of the SOIB, Pere Francesc Torrens Martín and the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, presented the "Jóvenes Cualificados" and "Visibles" municipal programmes of the SOIB.
Participate 48 unemployed people, young graduates under 30 years and long-term and older unemployed respectively, who do works of general and social interest in the municipality of Calvià.
"VISIBLES" PROGRAMME: On 15th October, the Town Hall of Calvià, through the IFOC and the Llar de Calvià, presented four projects that will allow the hiring, for six months, of 25 unemployed workers, over 35 years of age, full time, to do works or services of general and social interest that will affect the entire municipality of Calvià.
This programme has a funding of € 271,100, financed with SOIB funds through Sectoral Conference.
One more year, thanks to this entity, local entities (including their municipal companies and autonomous organisations) can hire unemployed people over 35 years old, registered as job seekers in the SOIB at least twelve of the eighteen months prior to the time of doing the pre-selection, who preferably do not receive unemployment benefit or subsidy.
«CALVIÀ INTEGRA II»: global project in which several municipal areas participate:
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND YOUTH: improvement and maintenance of the youth building Es Generador and citizen participation premises.
NATURAL AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT: improvements, conditioning and maintenance of the Galatzó public estate.
MUNICIPAL SPORTS INSTITUTE (ICE): improvement of municipal sports facilities gardened areas. Improvement of sports facilities.
MOBILITY, ROADS AND WORKS AND MAINTENANCE: recovery of several sections of the Passeig de Calvià and the main sea promenades. Beautification of the gardens of the areas between Cala Figuera and Peguera. Restoration of several walls of the schools and cultural centres of the municipality (in collaboration with the IMEB and the Culture area).
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING INSTITUTE OF CALVIÀ (IFOC): support and administrative management of the project.
SENIOR CITIZENS' HOME OF CALVIÀ : maintenance and improvement of the Senior Citizens' Home and the centres of Calvià.
TWO PROJECTS ADDRESSED ESPECIALLY TO WOMEN: projects that affect two specific areas and activities:
PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT OF THE COASTLINE: studies and municipal actions on the coastline of Calvià.
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING INSTITUTE OF CALVIÀ (IFOC): actions to improve employability.
"YOUNG QUALIFIED" PROGRAMME: as of the month of December, Calvià Town Hall has hired, for 7 months, 23 qualified young people under 30 years of age, and enrolled in the Youth Guarantee Platform.
By level of studies, 16 have a university degree and 7 have upper-level training cycles. The studies of the young people who have been hired are:
These young people will perform functions related to their studies, to carry out works or services of general and / or social interest:
Municipal project, coordinated by the IFOC, where 15 people are hired as of 19th December, to carry out the following actions:
Culture: support for the development of cultural projects and publications.
Employment and Training Institute of Calvià (IFOC): business actions and studies and dissemination, and support and administrative management of the project.
Social Development and Equity: implementation of the projects: Equality Plan in the municipality and «Calvià, municipality friend of childhood».
Tourism, coastline and strategic projects: studies and actions in the commercial fabric of Calvià.
Economic services: economic impact studies in finalist programmes of public interest.
Calvià Sports Institute (ICE): management of municipal sports projects.
Transparency: citizen service in the field of transparency and participation.
Citizen Participation and Youth: promotion of social networks for citizen participation and youth.
Natural and Urban Environment: PACES project, review, promotion and maintenance of the Action Plan for Sustainable Energy and Climate of Calvià and Design and planning of urban gardens.
Heritage: development of dissemination activities and management of the Puig de sa Morisca Archaeological Park.
Taxes: assistance to taxpayers in their tax duties.
Computing: support and development of the municipal website.
2. Project of Calvià 2000, where on 11th December, 4 people were hired to carry out activities such as: physicochemical and microbiological analysis of water, mud, land, food and surfaces. Home organic waste collection deployment project. Works and projects support office. Graphic design.
3. Projects of the Senior Citizens' Home of Calvià, in which 3 people, hired as of 21st December, develop actions related to: active aging, cognitive and memory impairment prevention. Actions to favour the maintenance of the daily life skills, in an autonomous way. Economic studies of real cost analysis of the different services of the Llar de Calvià S.A
4. Projects of the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB), where a contracted person will support the Municipal Nurseries Service to attend to children with special educational needs and learning difficulties.
These programmes have a total subsidy of 374,180.10 euros under the Programme SOIB Jóvenes Calificados Entidades Locales, financed with funds from the SOIB, the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and the co-financing of the European Social Fund (FSE), through the Youth Employment Operative Programme 2014-2020 and the Youth Employment Youth, and with funds of the Sectoral Conference.
Finally, in all the aforementioned actions, it is highlighted the involvement of the SOCIAL SERVICES area in tasks of information and referral of people with social vulnerability of the municipality so that they can participate in these programmes.
When all the aforementioned projects are completed, the IFOC will make available to these workers the necessary resources to promote employment, amongst which is the Municipal Employment Agency, job guidance and entrepreneurship services and training activities.
