Calvià 2000 completes the renovation of street blowers, that are now electric instead of gasoline powered
19 electrical machines have been purchased with which environmental and acoustic pollution is reduced.
Calvià 2000 has just acquired 19 street blowers, thus fulfilling the goal of totally renewing these machines to replace the gasoline engines with new electric motors, totalling now 39 street blowing machines.
This strategic objective aims to reduce pollution, both environmental and acoustic, that was generated with the use of gasoline-powered street blowers. Thanks to this, the noise that was caused by street sweeping with the use of a mechanical sweeper plus the gasoline powered blower is now over.

In addition to the street blowers, Calvià 2000 is executing its plan to replace the obsolete vehicles of its fleet with vehicles moved with electric power. Currently, the process for the first phase (13 units) is on, and it is planned to end the replacement of the entire fleet by 2020. Amongst the new vehicles moved by electric power, a one-aquare-metre sweeper stands out, and it will be for cleaning service in Calvià Vila, the only area where cleaning was still carried out manually.
In addition to the vehicles, the loading infrastructure in the company's facilities is also in the process of being awarded, with the provision of up to 19 loading poles.
