Friday 8th June 2018

THE RENOVATION WORKS OF GALIÓ ST. IN MAGALUF ARE NOW COMPLETED

Since November, actions in the first and second lines to renovate and refurbish urban streets and improve infrastructures and leisure areas are being carried out throughout the municipality

The Galió St. in Magaluf is already open to pedestrians after having undertaken a thorough renovation of this street, located on the second line from the sea, perpendicular to the beach.

Since November, several urban works are being undertaken in the municipality of Calvià, to improve different infrastructures in both tourist and residential areas, both on the seafront and more inland.

The renovation of Galió street -between l'Olivera and les Palmeres avenues- is one of the works that have been carried out in the second and third lines of Magaluf, that includes tourist and residential area, and that gives continuity to the street that leads to Pere Vaquer Avenue. As part of the reconversion that is being carried out in the area, the work turns this road into a "friendly", walkable street, in which traffic -restricted to neighbours, loading and unloading and service vehicles- coexists with pedestrians, giving these greater prominence.

The works, with a cost of around 894,000 euros, have consisted of turning the street into a road with a central landscaped and draining space, with rest areas, with small recreational areas, leaving a width of 3 metres free, in both sides of the street, for the passage of vehicles. The street furniture consists mainly of benches, beacons and other elements throughout the route, alternating with the trees. In addition, the necessary infrastructures have been made to bury existing air lines and the sewage pipes have been replaced.
