SUMMER SCHOOLS 2018
With the aim of reconciling work and family life, promoting education in values, equality between men and women, social cohesion, tolerance, solidarity and respect for diversity, encouraging healthy living habits and promoting environmental responsibility actions, promoting the English language knowledge and the development of psychomotor skills, the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB) has made available to the Associations of Parents of students in early childhood and primary education centres of the municipality, the possibility of organising summer schools in different school centres.
For this year 2018, summer schools will take place in the following educational centres: CEIP Bendinat, CEIP Jaume I (Palmanova), CEIP Cas Saboners (Magaluf), CEIP Puig de Sa Ginesta (Urb. Galatzó), CEIP Ses Rotes Velles (Santa Ponça), CEIP Puig de Sa Morisca (Santa Ponça), CEIP Son Ferrer, CEIP Xaloc (Peguera) and CEIP Galatzó (Es Capdellà).
The IMEB subsidises the residents participating in the summer schools with a contribution of € 50 / month or € 25 / fortnight during the months of July and August. In addition, large families receive an additional contribution of € 10 / month or € 5 / fortnight.
These grants are extended to those families living in the municipality who during the summer have children in foster care.
In addition, the IMEB subsidises teachers for the care of students with disabilities.
Depending on the activity demand, service is also offered during the non-school days of June and September.
The summer schools' end of term party is held on 31st August, which this year has as theme: Moors and Christians "The rei En Jaume festivities", the party will take place at the Magaluf Athletics Track and at the Municipal Sports Centre swimming pool, with activities adapted to the students' ages: inflatable water castles, games, floating bridge, water circuit, etc.
