Local Products Gastronomic Days

The Calvià Town Hall, through the Employment and Training Institute (IFOC), will carry out innovative and free showcooking activities and training in the field of local seasonal products and local background, kilometre 0, applied to the catering and hostelry sector of Calvià

The Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC, will carry out two innovative actions in the municipality with the aim of promoting local and seasonal products amongst the professionals of the catering and tourism sector of the municipality. With these actions, it is sought, on the one hand, to promote new gastronomic experiences that can be offered within the tourist offer of the municipality with local products and, on the other, to train professionals and entrepreneurs of the catering sector of Calvià. Thus, two free actions are planned for September:


DEMONSTRATION DAY: LOCAL PRODUCTS AND MALLORCAN WINES SHOWCOOKING-PAIRING

This day, will take place on 21st September and will be conducted and coordinated by the chef Miquel Calent, owner of the Can Calent and Cuit restaurants. In this activity, cuisine and wine will be compatible through a demonstration of 'tapas' made with his modern vision of the Mallorcan background, seasonal and with local products cuisine. At the end of the presentation, each 'tapa' will be paired with an autochthonous wine accompanied by the corresponding oenological explanations of the IFOC teacher, Pablo Serrano, who will also give the following formative action. 

MALLORCAN WINE TASTING INITIATION COURSE (20 hours)

From the 13th to the 20th September, students participating in this course will be able to discover the elaboration process of native wines, their characteristics, conservation and pairing. The training is aimed at professionals and entrepreneurs in the catering sector of the municipality.
