Presentation of the 'Mostra de Cuines de Calvią'

A NEW EDITION OF THE 'MOSTRA DE CUINES DE CALVIÀ' BEGINS


The chef María Salinas performs a showcooking at the presentation of the autumn's edition of the gastronomic display in which 43 establishments from different areas of the municipality take part

 

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has presented, in the Town Hall's gardens, a new edition of the 'Mostra de Cuines de tardor de Calvià' which begins this Friday 5th October and will take place every Friday until the end of the month in different areas of the municipality. 

The presentation has counted with the participation of the cook Maria Salinas who has done a show cooking for the attendants. The preparation consisted of a salted flan with bacon and basil accompanied by foie gras and sautéed vegetables with coconut milk and crispy spinach. 

The mayor thanked the establishments for their participation in this new edition of the 'Mostra' and highlighted the importance of the event as another tool in terms of tourism seasonality.

43 establishments will take part in this edition of the 'Mostra' offering, both at midday and in the evening, a full menu at popular prices (maximum 16 euros). Some restaurants also offer children's menu, alternative menu, gluten-free alternative menu and vegetarian menu. It is recommended to make the reservation with the maximum advance.

 17 restaurants of Palmanova, Magaluf and Son Ferrer will participate on Friday 5th October; 10 restaurants of Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma and the Galatzó residential area will participate on Friday 12th October; 8 restaurants of el Toro, Peguera and Cala Fornells will participate on Friday, 19th October; and 8 restaurants of Illetes, Son Caliu, Ca's Català, Bendinat, Portals Nous and Son Caliu will participate on Friday 26th October.


The 'Mostra de Cuines de Calvià' is one of the activities organised by Fundación Calvià with the aim of contributing to the deseasonalisation of the tourist season, and once again counts with the collaboration of Makro. More information and details of all the menus in the information brochure on

María Salinas


Cuisine is something that has attracted María Salinas since she was a child, and over the years, it has become an indivisible part of her lifestyle: "cooking is my way of expressing honestly who I am and of receiving the best way I know, those who come to eat at my house ... because yes, I live right above my restaurant! ".


María Salinas has worked in establishments such as Hotel Maricel, Portixol Hotel, Valluga Hotel, Puro Hotel, Brondo Architect Hotel, or Sa Pedrissa. Now, she runs her own restaurant in Mancor de la Vall. The result of the experience acquired is a close and creative style cuisine of
"a passionate about gastronomy".
