CALVIÀ AT THE XIX INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FORUM OF BENIDORM

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, speaks today at the 19th International Tourism Forum of Benidorm Smart Data, in which more than 300 people and 28 speakers from the most important tourist municipalities of Spain take part.

Rodríguez Badal has been part of the 8 Tourist Municipalities Alliance Board, in which the digital transformation of destinations has been discussed, and in which the mayor of Calvià has referred, on the one hand, to the importance of connectivity as a key aspect for medium and low season tourism and the responsible policies that tourism destinations must adopt with the natural environment, favouring its preservation, and with the social environment, giving back what the tourism industry receives from it. In this sense, he has highlighted the need for the tourism industry to generate expectations worthy of quality: "The industry must generate decent quality expectations for young people and the elderly. If young people, with more or less training, do not see that they can have a dignified life development - he has pointed out - they will not bet on the tourism industry. The industry must take care of the workers, so that workers take care of customers "

The Tourist Municipalities Alliance Board has been moderated by the president of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), and have participated, in addition to the mayor of Calvià, the mayors of Salou, Torremolinos, Benidorm, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Adeje and the tourism councillors of Arona and Lloret de Mar.
