MALLORCA LIVE FESTIVAL COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY
The organisation of the festival, Calvià 2000, Cruz Roja and Hidrobal sign an agreement for waste reduction during the event
Organic collection containers are installed for the first time at catering stalls
Calvià 2000 has signed an agreement with the organisation of the Mallorca Live Festival (MLF), Cruz Roja and Hidrobal, for the second consecutive year, with the aim of promoting, during the organisation of the festival, environmental measures, and to minimise the impact of waste, as well as promoting and disseminating environmental values.
Within the actions to reduce waste, "colillómetros"(methacrylate ashtrays) will be installed at the festival's venue. In addition, as in previous years, reusable cups will be provided.
As a novelty, in this edition, Calvià 2000 will install organic waste collection containers that will be at the availability of the venue's resturateurs, in addition to facilitating the separation at source to the attendees with the placement of selective collection containers.
Within the venue, Cruz Roja will have an information and environmental awareness point and environmental informants to raise awareness amongst the attendees on the correct recycling of waste.The agreement with the non-profit organisation also envisages that throughout the 2019 summer season, Cruz Roja will carry out environmental awareness activities in the municipality of Calvià, mainly on the beaches of the municipality.
