CALVIÀ WILL HOST FROM THE 26th TO 30th DECEMBER THE HG SOCCER CUP - INTERNATIONAL U-10 AND U-12 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
The tournament will bring together more than 1,000 participants and companions of national and international teams
The II edition of the HG Calvià Soccer Cup will be held from 26th to 30th December 2019. It is expected the participation of 32 teams, 16 per category (U10 and U12). The event presents an attractive poster of confirmed teams, with the presence of some of the most important international, national and local football teams.
The presence of international youth teams such as La Lazio (Italy) or Oporto (Portugal) stands out. As for the national representation, it is headed by the Atlético de Madrid, Celta, Betis or Málaga, amongst others. Finally, the tournament will include the best youth teams in the Balearic Islands, led by RCD Mallorca, Atlético Baleares or the host team of the tournament, CF Platges de Calvià.
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has valued very positively the realisation of this tournament in the area, as it reinforces the line that the Town Hall maintains of fighting against the tourist seasonal standstill through an offer that goes beyond sun and beach. In addition, he said that the municipality has magnificent sports facilities and a perfectly prepared service sector to host sports activities throughout the year.
The more than 1,000 visitors, including players, coaches and companions, of the tournament, will be staying in hotel establishments in Calvià, distributed between the areas of Magaluf, Palmanova, Costa d'en Blanes and Portals Nous. The average stay will be 4 days. An estimated return of half a million euros is estimated.
The tournament has the sponsorship of players such as Guillermo Vallori, Patricia Guijarro, Cata Coll, Gustavo Siviero, Miguel Ángel Moyà and Javier Dorado. The tournament directors, Joel Armenta and Joan Romera, appreciate the collaboration of Calvià Town Hall, as well as the rest of the institutions, in addition to the private sponsors, which make possible that the only Balearic U-10 and U-12 Christmas tournament, is a reality in Calvià.
