CALVIÀ AT FITUR

The progress towards improving the quality of the destination has been confirmed today on the second day of the International Tourism Fair, following the meetings that the Calvià delegation is holding at FITUR, with BCM and OPTA representatives.

The mayor of Calvià and the general director of Tourism of the municipality, Xavier Pascuet, have known first hand the renewal of the new BCM that is scheduled to open in May, accompanying the change towards improving the quality of the destination of Magaluf already started.

After the meeting, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, celebrated that the project “goes in the line of the transformation that we want for Magaluf” and that started a few years ago, because the leisure sector must also go forward to offer quality leisure" according to the type of tourism we want in Calvià". He pointed out that the BCM renewal is in this line of moving towards a quality standard and that it will also be an opportunity for it to be another driving force that joins the establishments that have already experienced this improvement, so that the entire leisure sector in Magaluf progresses in the same direction.

Precisely, this impetus to improving the leisure and commercial sector is what is being promoted in collaboration with OPTA, with whose representatives he has also met at FITUR, within the process of changing the tourism model of Magaluf.

The Mayor has also intervened this morning in the Tourist Quality in Destination Comprehensive System (SICTED) Awards ceremony, together with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Bel Oliver, as chairman of the Tourism Commission of the FEMP.

Tomorrow Friday he will participate in the Spanish Tourism Council (CONESTUR) meeting that will be chaired by President Pedro Sánchez.
