Calvią Children's Council Meeting

Friday 28th February 2020

MEETING WITH THE COUNSELLORS OF CALVIÀ CHILDREN'S COUNCIL

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has attended this week the Calvià Children's Council meeting, which is held every month, to answer the questions that have been raised and listen to their proposals.

The Children's Council is a space in which the children of Calvià can give their opinion and participate in issues that affect them, apart from proposing improvements in the municipality. This year, almost all public schools in the municipality are taking part.

In the Plenary session held by the Council in May last year, the children delivered their booklet of proposals and asked the mayor to meet him at one of the meetings they hold monthly.

In this week's meeting, they asked him about the work done by a mayor and about various issues that concern them such as the environment and aspects related to the municipality.

Calvià is Ciudad CAI (Child Friendly City), a recognition of UNICEF to the municipalities that, like Calvià, carry out continuous processes of implementation of policies and measures that improve the well-being of children and adolescents.

The meeting with the mayor was also attended by the councilwomen Nati Francés, Olga Granados and M. Carmen Rojano.
