Agreement to support entrepreneurs

BOTH, CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND SECOT SIGN AN AGREEMENT FOR THE ADVICE AND TRAINING OF ENTREPRENEURS

The purpose of the agreement is to help create new economic activities and consolidate the business fabric in the municipality

Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC (Calvià Training and Employment Institute), and the SECOT (Spanish Seniors for Technical Cooperation) association have signed an agreement through which the entity will provide advice to entrepreneurs.

The objective of the agreement signed by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the president of SECOT in the Balearic Islands, Ricardo Moreno Bermejo, is to advise and accompany people who wish to undertake a new business project, in short, contribute to the creation of new economic activities and the consolidation of the business fabric in the municipality of Calvià, especially in the field of micro-enterprises.

The mayor of Calvià has appreciated the collaboration in areas that IFOC has always promoted, such as training, support and entrepreneurship, as well as the contribution of experience as a tool that will allow to continue in the search for opportunities.

On his behalf, the president of SECOT in the Islands has explained that from the association they are currently focused on the new situation to help entrepreneurs and contribute their experience and knowledge so that they do not fall into the mistakes that are made at the beginning of the projects' start-up.

SECOT is a non-profit association, established in 1989 and declared of Public Utility in 1995. The volunteers that make it up are Seniors, professionals, management personnel and businessmen and businesswomen who after finishing their work activity, or who are still active, they offer their experience and knowledge in business or academic management to those who need it. Their work has allowed small companies to continue operating, while they have accompanied many entrepreneurs in their initiative to start a business project, helping to create and maintain numerous jobs.

The collaboration between IFOC and SECOT will go along two lines. On the one hand, mentoring and consulting activities will be carried out and, on the other hand, training will be given in the field of guidance, entrepreneurship, cooperativism and ecology and environment (circular economy and new business models).

The agreement signing event was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Education and Employment, Olga Granados; the IFOC manager, Darío Espallargas, and the former president of SECOT Balears, Bernardí Seguí.
