Monday 23rd November 2020

CALVIÀ COMMEMORATES 25 N INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

The slogan of this year's poster #RompLaCadena wants to support the work that Feminisme a l'escola does to prevent sexist violence from the grassroots

Calvià Town Hall commemorates on 25th November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence towards Women, with a series of activities and a central act that will take place on Wednesday in the Town Hall building, of Desire, Rejection and Remembrance of the women murdered in 2020 by their partners or ex-partners, where a minute's silence will not be observed, but as it is done in every act of this type in Calvià, people shout very loudly against this scourge.

This year the motto that has been chosen for the 25 N poster is #RompLaCadena, in which Calvià Town Hall wants to pay tribute and show recognition and support for the work that Feminisme a l'escola has done to prevent sexist violence at grassroots. As every year, the events organised by the High Schools of the municipality that join Feminisme a l'escola will be supported, with the presence of councillors from the municipal government team to these activities.

Theatre will also be present on this International Day for the Elimination of Violence towards Women, through the theatre play 'Casa', by Catalina Florit, Maria Rosselló and Maria Bauçà, which will take place tomorrow Tuesday 24th November at the Santa Ponça library at 7 p.m. On Saturday 28th, at the Peguera Auditorium, Agnès Mateus and Quim Tarrida will present 'Rebota, rebota y en tu cara explota'.
