CALVIÀ BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2021 PROVIDES A DOUBLE SCENARIO DUE TO THE INCORPORATION OF REMNANTS AS FROM APRIL
The real budget will see an increase of between 4% and 6% despite the fact that the initial budget is reduced, with a 2.34% decrease
Calvià Town Hall presents a draft budget for 2021 that includes a double scenario, due to the incorporation of remnants that can be carried out as from April, due to the suspension of fiscal rules (budget stability, spending and public debt), approved on 6th October 2020 by the Council of Ministers and subsequently ratified by the Congress Plenary, on 20th October 2020.
In this way, an initial containment budget is proposed, with a 2.34% decrease compared to the 2020 budget. However, with the incorporation of remnants as from April (which is calculated between 6 and 8 million euros) real accounts will represent an increase of between 4% and 6% compared to 2020.
The fall in income during 2020 (of about 12 million euros), project a decrease also for the year 2021, although the forecast is for a slight recovery. As an example, the income corresponding to Chapters 1, 2 and 3 (direct and indirect taxes and fees) is expected to suffer a 5.98%, 9.83% and 4.03% decrease, respectively, a situation that will be offset, however, by the income forecast in Chapters 4, 5 and 7 (transfers from other administrations and equity income).
Calvià budget for the year 2021 has been designed under the objectives of: supporting residents and the economic recovery and reactivation of the municipality. For this reason, special emphasis is placed on the axes of social aid, promotion of housing, support for the productive sector, intensification of tourism promotion, environment and ecological transition, and consolidation of training and employment lines.
Amongst the specific actions for the year 2021 for the economic recovery and reactivation, an important municipal line of aid to the sector linked to the associated supply is foreseen, which will be subsidised with the early incorporation of remnants, and the continuation of the rates bonus of occupation of terraces, at least, until 30th June 2021.
