Amadip leads the Galatzó agricultural management

Tuesday 23rd February 2021

AMADIP ESMENT BEGINS THE AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT OF THE GALATZÓ PUBLIC ESTATE

It is the first contract reserved for third sector entities

The first coordination meeting between Calvià Town Hall and Amadip Esment Foundation took place today to launch the activities that the entity will carry out for the agricultural management of the Galatzó public estate.

Both, the Deputy Mayor for Environment and Ecological Transition, Rafel Sedano, and the director of the Amadip Esment occupation centre, Sebastià Alemany, have met with the technical team of the Environment department to define the operation, coordination and monitoring of the contract reserved for third sector entities, which Amadip has won and which, as Sedano pointed out, is being carried out for the first time in the municipality, which implies that, in addition to a natural and agricultural interest, there are social benefits. Likewise, he appreciated the fact that there are people from the municipality amongst the hired personnel.

On his behalf, Sebastià Alemany stressed that the agricultural management of the Galatzó Estate is a step forward for the Fundació Amadip Esment, which already has experiences in agricultural activity issues, and which has been collaborating for a long time with the Town Hall in other lines.

The successful tenderer must carry out the maintenance and conservation of the Galatzó Estate, its environmental and traditional values as a mountain estate in the Serra de Tramuntana, favouring a comprehensive ecological agricultural and forestry production system, prioritising its traditional cultural, heritage, ethnological, natural and landscaping values.

Amadip Esment was the awarded company of the contract reserved to carry out the management activities for 2 years, with the option of two more years.
