(The call will soon be published in the BOIB)

Calvià Town Hall launches a direct aid call for the productive sector of the municipality, with a total of 3.000.000 euros, of which 2.022.000 will be provided by the Town Hall and the rest (489.243 euros each) will be provided by the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Consell de Mallorca. An allocation that the Town Hall will expand, if necessary, so that all people who meet the requirements receive the subsidy.

These are direct aids with a fixed amount of 3.000 euros per work centre or establishment, with a maximum of two establishments per person, this is, a maximum of 6.000 euros in aids per person. This call is compatible with any other municipal or other administration aids, but people who have received any of the aids from the 'Mallorca React' Plan of measures that the Consell de Mallorca grants through the Fundació Mallorca Turisme will not be able to apply for the grants.

This has been explained by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, who appeared after the online meeting held with the associated offer associations, together with the deputy mayor and spokesperson for the municipal government team and the PSIB-PSOE, Nati Francés, and the councilwoman and the municipal group Podem-Més spokesperson, Marga Plomer.

Aids' novelties

This call introduces a series of novelties with regards to other grants, with the double objective of reaching as many people as possible and simplifying and speeding up the procedures. The first novelty is that, to request the aids, it will only be necessary to provide a responsible declaration, as a guarantee that the requirements of the call are met, which later will be verified by the administration, and it will not be necessary to justify later the investment made by the beneficiary person.

Another outstanding novelty is that people who throughout 2020 have tax and Social Security debts, or have debts with the administration, and that are not higher than the subsidies they may receive, may request the aid. Without prejudice to the fact that they will be entitled to the aid if, in the event of having a debt before 2020 and greater than this aid, the beneficiary proceeds to regulate the situation of it in the correction period that is established.

Provided there is budget availability, the initial amount may be increased so that the applications that are submitted, and that meet the requirements, can obtain the aid.

Eligible activities

Catering activities, gyms, dance schools, dance halls and discotheques that do not meet one or more of the requirements to be beneficiaries of any of the aid calls to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 implemented by the Mallorca Turisme Foundation of the Consell de Mallorca, aimed at these sectors.
