Calvià concludes fire and evacuation drills for the municipality's 10 public nursery schools.

  • Training plans are being drawn up for staff and the specifics of evacuating children aged 0 to 3 are being studied
  • This is an initiative of Calvià Civil Protection, IMEB (Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries) and the Local Police

Calvià Civil Protection, IMEB (Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries) and the Local Police have carried out emergency drills at the municipal nursery schools. Throughout the summer, fire and evacuation drills, and other emergency drills have been planned and implemented for the municipality's nursery schools.

Over the last year, the Civil Protection department has been working on the study, drafting, training and implementation of the new self-protection plans for the 10 municipal nursery schools in the municipality. These plans have been designed taking into account the specific nature of evacuating children between 0 and 3 years old.

These actions are carried out with the aim of training school staff in their response to a potential emergency situation, as well as to comply with current regulations on self-protection, applying the development of the new plans.

During the drills, the performance of the internal emergency teams (made up of the staff themselves), evacuation times, and any potential incidents that may arise are monitored, in order to correct them and improve the response in the event of a real emergency.
