155 workshops and 1.400 users. This is the balance of the 2024-2025 courses given at the municipal cultural centres in the municipality of Calvià. The number of workshops offered has increased by more than fifty compared to the previous year, increasing from 1.200 to 1.400 users. Teachers and participants gathered at the closing event of the season in a meeting held on Wednesday in Plaza Europa in El Toro.
The cultural centres are a community meeting point for residents of the different areas of the municipality, where they can find cultural and recreational activities. The workshops offered at the cultural centres provide basic knowledge and skills, both mental and physical. They are divided into six categories: physical activity and well-being; educational and personal growth; visual arts and creativity; dance and movement; music; and children's activities.
The courses and workshops were given at the six centres in the municipality (Magaluf, Calvià Vila, Santa Ponça, Son Ferrer, Peguera, and El Toro) at affordable prices, with discounts available for people with disabilities and one accompanying person. Children's workshops have been scheduled for children over six years of age. The Culture Department is already working on the new programming to be offered this autumn.
