THE TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICES OF CALVIÀ PROVIDE INFORMATION TO 132.953 VISITORS DURING THE TOURIST SEASON, UP TO 6.63% MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS YEAR
Stand out the increases in May and October of 16.27% and 22.94%
The municipal tourist information offices in Calvià attended 132.953 visitors between May and October, 6.63% more than the same period of the previous year. Stands out notably, the increase of tourists in the months of May and October, in particular 16.27% and 22.94%.
Spanish visitors accounted for 30.73% of the consultations, followed by Britons with 28.59% and Germans with 21.75%. As follows, French tourists with 7.23% of consultations, Scandinavians with 3.55% and Italians with 3.54% are the following nationalities by number of consultations.
The tourist offices will remain open throughout the winter as in previous years. Calvià has four municipal tourism offices (OMIT) that open all year round, as the town hall has the commitment to continue advancing in the deseasonalisation of the tourist activity to contribute to an improvement of the economic activity and the employement. In this same sense, this coming low season is the 25th anniversary of the launch of the programme 'Calvià, el invierno europeo' (Calvià, the European winter), a programme of activities for tourists in the low season, which has been developing continuously since its implementation in 1992.
In addition to tourist inquiries, and in order to bring the administration closer to the citizens and provide a better service to the neighbours, the offices can also carry out some formalities and municipal procedures such as registrations and the issuance of residence and travel certificates.
