Both associations, AFASIB and 3 Salud Mental organise the race and march for suicide prevention in the Balearic Islands. On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day and the main objective of the race, both associations aim to contribute by raising community awareness on the reality of suicide (universal prevention).
The race consists of two modalities:
The march covers a total of 4.003 metres, the number of suicides recorded in Spain during 2021, according to the INE's #unmetroporcadavida data.
The race covers 6 km
Both races have Calvià's Melani Costa Sports Centre as their meeting and starting point. The route can be done running, walking or Nordic walking, you set the limit.
The start of the (6km) race will be at 6 p.m. and the start of the (4.003m) march will be at 6:05 p.m.
The registration period is from August 1 to September 9 and the cost is 6 euros for both races. The final collection will be used to pay the organisation's expenses and all those people willing to do so will have the option of making a donation to AFASIB at the time of registration.
Participants will be able to collect their numbers at the starting point as from 4 p.m.
