The Mayor signs an agreement with the Councillor for the Enviroment of the Council to restore the olive press . Once the restoration work which will take , approximately 10 months, is completed, group visits will be allowed.
The Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado and the Councillor for the Enviroment of the Island Council , Maria Magdalena Tugores , this morning ,signed an agreement at the public Galatzó estate, where the restoration of the olive press will take place.
The restoration work will take approximately 10 months and once finished, will allow group visits throughout the whole year. The olive press restoration is included in the Rural Development Restauration Programme, approved by the Council in 2006, and which the Town Hall has received.
The municipal team as stated in the agreement, will bear the cost of the materials for the restoration; also carry out the technical project and have commited to mantain the restored olive press in good condition as well as not altering its traditional use. The Council will assign the necessary staff to carry out restoration works, as planned in the project.
