The Mayor has reduced a 15% his salary which added to the 2% reduced in July 2009, comes to a 17% during the present legislature . He will also make in between a 10 and a 6% reduction to the government team members and to the 17 personal advisors who work for the Town Hall as eventual staff, whose salary was reduced a 2% in 2009.

The biggest reduction will affect the Mayor who will see reduced his actual salary on a 15%. The following step will affect managers, who were, up to now, receiving 75.000 euros and will earn a 10% less according to this new settlement.

The next step down, the Department Managers, with a 50.000 euros salary, will be seen with a 7% reduction. Finally, the managers for projects, will suffer a 6% reduction in their 40.000 euros which they were receiving. Referring to the government team members, Deputy Mayors will receive an 8% less and Councillors a 7% less.

It is to be reminded that in July 2009, a part from announcing a salary reduction and wage freeze , Carlos Delgado took other solutions, such as the 50% reduction in all publicity agreements subscribed with the Media, this taken measure is effective since January 2010.

In July 2008, the Mayor of Calvià, according to the economic crisis and the social demand of the reducing the Town Hall´s expenses and a better administration, decided to reduce a 50%, his personal advisors, from 40 to 19. Currently, the amount of personal advisors has been reduced to 17, in order to clarify to the public, due to the continuos manipulations of the opposition, PSOE in Calvià and some Media, regarding this matter.
