Calvià, is the only municipality on the Balearic Islands acknowledged with the “Q” for Tourist Quality, for three of its beaches

New acknowledgement for three beaches in Calvià.

 

The Deputy Mayor for coast lines, Bartolomé Bonafé, collected the three Tourist Quality "Q" flags which make the beaches from Palmira in Paguera, Palmanova and Santa Ponça, the only ones on the Balearic Islands holding this distinctive which offers a quality system forwarded to the tourist enjoyment of the beaches from the respect to the environmental values and the ecosystems sustainability.

The Minister for Industry, Miguel Sebastián, handed to the representatives of the municipalities of the 9 Independent Communities, the flags where the "Q" standard for Tourist Quality is established for beaches and which in the 2010 edition renowns 152 beaches.

The quality "Q" obtained, is added to the 9 blue flags with which other various beaches in the municipality have been renowned: Oratorio, Es Carregador, Palmanova, Magaluf, Cala Vinyes, Santa Ponça, La Romana, Torà and Palmira.
