As well as the recently inaugurated swimming-pool in Santa Ponça, this new facility is provided with the new Biomass renewable energy system, for the heating of both, swimming-pool and sanitary hot water, which, apart from being 100% respectful with the environment, allows an important fuel economical saving, which specifically, in the case of Peguera, can stand at about 40.000 euros per year. The Peguera swimming-pool counts, therefore, with two 50 kw power boilers which use pellets, almond shells and olive stones as biofuel products.

This new swimming-pool is included within the important refurbishment works which are carrying out at the sports centre in Peguera. Up to now, the Basque ball refurbishment and the changing of both, the sports track´s closure and the track´s pavement, have been carried out. Also, it is to be included, the construction works which now are being carried out, which consist of 4 new changing rooms for Basque ball and the sports area; the construction of a new football pitch with its corresponding 4 changing rooms for teams and two for referees or the new fitness building which is being built and will be provided with a fitness room; a room for monitored activities and two changing rooms. The investment for mentioned improvement works adds up to 2,9 million euros.

Furthermore, 66 new parking lots will be built, next to the fitness building, for cars and 10 more for motorbikes. Finally, it is to be reminded that, next to the football pitch, there is an existing parking with 13 lots and in the future, another parking with 23 more lots will be built, next to the sports track.
