The Calvià Town Hall and ,specifically, the Calvià for the Climate Municipal Office, participated in the X Environmental National Congress (CONAMA), celebrated in Madrid, between 23^rd and 25^th November, within the Local Gatherings Session´s framework. During the course of mentioned sessions, the “Strategy Calvià for the Climate”, was exhibited, as an example of the Local Strategy against the Climate Change and as a unique and pioneer local tactic on the Balearic Islands with CO2 emissions reduction specific projects.

The work carried out by the Calvià for the Climate Office, was exhibited in front of more than 300 local entities in Spain, which participated in the Congress, as well as in front of important international energy companies (Endesa, ENCE, Iberdrola, etc) tourist agents, environmental organizations (WWF Adena, Amigos de la Tierra) and representatives of the national government, regional authorities and the Federation of municipalities. Also, different representations of South American countries, were present.

The participation in the CONAMA 10, has represented a magnificent apportunity for the Calvià´s external promotion as a municipality committed with the local sustainable management and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as having an opportunity of knowing the other localities experiences through the various conferences and debate forums in which have participated.
