Calvià and Es Capdellà celebrated the traditional animals blessing last weekend and the whole municipality lights their bonfires, these days

Calvià celebrates Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastià.

With the celebration of the Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastià festivities, bonfires will fill the municipality of Calvià, getting together all those neighbours willing to celebrate these days together.

The lighting of the bonfires, “foguerons”, took place at the streets of Miguel de los Santos Oliver, Tirso de Molina (next to the hotel Martinique), Greco and at the Avenida de las Palmeras in Palmanova and Magaluf as well as at the Alcázar Square in Portals; in Galatzó, in Son Ferrer and also in Son Caliu, last weekend. Furthermore, the Saint Anthony´s traditional animals blessing took place in Es Capdellà on Saturday, which also was celebrated in the village of Calvià, the day after.

A great number of neighbours were present at the church surroundings to attend the traditional animals blessing.

  

                  



  • 19th : Bonfires in Peguera, Es Capdellà and Calvià: Bonfires at the Casal´s parking in Peguera from 7 p.m. and at Sa Vinya Square in Es Capdellà at the same time. Calvià´s “Alimara”, the biggest bonfire, will be lit, next to the basketball area at 8 p.m, burning the devil.Also small fires, will be lit in the surroundings where the neighbours will be able to grill Majorcan sausages.

  • 20th : San Sebastián´s procession in Es Capdellà: Sant Sebastià´s procession in Es Capdellà after the mass which will take place at 4 p.m. After the mass, a small bonfire will also be lit.

  • 21st : Bonfires in Santa Ponça and Torrenova: At the sports center in Santa Ponça at 7 p.m. and at Bergantin St., in Torrenova at 8 p.m.

  • 22nd : Bonfires in El Toro, Cala Viñas, Magaluf and Puig de sa Sirvi: Bonfires at the Plaza Europa in El Toro from 8 p.m. At the same time, the bonfires will be lit at the streets of Nereidas in Cala Viñas and Terral in Magaluf whereas the bonfires in the Malgrats viewpoint, in el Puig de sa Sirvi, will be lit two hours before, at 6 p.m.
