The Local Police in Calvià has incorporated six LPG vehicles and two electric motorbikes to its fleet, within the clear objective to reduce costs and also to contribute with the environment. We are talking about six Seat Altea XL vehicles, adapted to function with natural gas. This is a non pollutant fuel and more economical than the ones derivated from petroleum, which will mean an estimated saving of between 4.000 to 4.500 euros, yearly, within the fuel consumption of the six mentioned vehicles. They are provided with a complete emergency light equipment and a kit for transferring detained citizens.
Regarding the motorbikes, there are two Vectrix scooters, provided with equipment and an emergency light system. Also, the local police in Calvià has incorporated four Citröen Jumpy diesel engine vans, provided with an emergency light equipment and a kit for transferring detained citizens, as well as two Suzuki scooter petrol motorbikes, provided with equipment and an emergency light system.
All vehicles have been incorporated within a rental contract for the following four years, with approximately, an annual cost of 150.000 euros, including maintenance, repair works and insurances and which includes an option for purchase, at the end of mentioned contract.
