The Regional Minister for the Local Cooperation, Bernardí Coll, the Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, and Manuel Grillé, Deputy Mayor for Local Police-Civil Defence, have visited the fire station in Santa Ponça, this morning.

The fire station´s facilities have been visited during the meeting to which, the Insular Director for Emergencies, Francesc Amengual, the Head of the Majorcan firemen, Joan Rosselló and the Calvià´s firemen´s sergeant, Luis Matas, have also attended.

Manuel Onieva has shown his satisfaction with the visit of the Regional Minister and the Insular Director for Emergencies and has highlighted the importance of strengthening bonds between the Calvià Town Hall and the area of Local Cooperation of the Majorca´s Regional Government.

On Bernardí Coll´s behalf, he has acknowledged the importance that the Santa Ponça fire station has within the Majorcan Firemen´s network and stated that will not restrict resources in order that the firemen are able to carry out their work with effectiveness and responsability despite the bad economic situation through which the Regional Government is passing through.
