The Local Police in Calvià celebrated its Day, this morning, with its traditional prize giving to the winners of the different sport competitions organised during the course of the year. Also, congratulations and gratitude plates were given to the police officers who have outstanded for their work.

During the event, the chief of the Local Police in Calvià, José Antonio Navarro, noted the working lines for the forthcoming year and highlighted that they will continue with the same budget as they had done for this year 2011. On his part, the Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, highlighted that Public Safety is one of the basic pillars of his municipal management.

Later, the police officers who have outstanded for their work, were congratulated and also gratitude plates were given to 29 police officers, who have served for the Police Force for 25 years.

The event came to a close with an exhibition of the Canine Unit.
