Narrative in Castilian
Literary Work: Daños colaterales. Intense literary work, of original narrative technique, with various narration levels and which is located in an imprecise future, men are literally the prime matter of power. The book is a hard and cruel vision of the degradation, which the human beings are submitted to by the dictatorships. In the story, the corruption and the dictatorial methods of a Caribbean country, extend to the acquisition of human organs for the most powerful. The figure of the general Ramiro Valdivieso, in need of "replacements" contrasts with the figure of the philosophy teacher Urbano Rocasol who tries to preserve his intellectual integrity.
Narrative in Catalan
Literary Work: El secret de Van Gogh It is a thought about the subconscious, the mistery of good and evil, the family, the eternal loneliness and the marks that individual stories leave in each person and in their behaviour. Both, the richness and the verbality of the Majorcan language, find moments of great expressiveness. The plot and the interest remain until the end.
Poetry in Castilian
Literary Work: HIELO. Metaphor about cold, desolation, migration, loneliness, homesickness and the yearning of a Spanish writer in a remote and alien city (Oslo). The urban scenery and the city´s daily life are observed and described in a precise language and with a high quality poetic.
Poetry in Catalan
Literary Work: La pietat de l'atzavara. It is a thought about time, space and movement, from the Copernican theory exhibited in the book, De revolutionibus orbium, about the movement of the planets which revolve around the sun and their own axis. The subject matters of both, the human being and the univers are explained in an original way and with new poetic perspectives.
Author: Jordi Colomer Feliu (Banyoles, 1964). Poet, scientist, Professor of Environmental Physics at the University of Girona. La pietat de l'atzavara is his fifth poem. He says that his books are many times linked with movement and word spectacles.
Comic
Literary Work: Cactus Work with a high quality technique, full of irony about the misunderstanding and the different perspectives of the observation of a same phenomenon or event.
Author: Alba Sánchez Romero ( Rubí, Barcelona, 1987). She studied Art in the Universtiy of Barcelona and at present, she is working as an Art teacher. In 2011, she won the University of Granada National Award "Alonso Cano", in the comic modality. She has carried out various exhibitions at the specialized circuits. She explains that in her work, she expects to “play with the contrasts of sweet-good and evil-sinister, and thus provoke a reaction of humour and surprise to the audience".
