Presentation of the project 'Ametlàndia'.

The five-year-old pupils of the Calvià Public School Ses Quarterades have put into practice, during the course of this academic year, an experimental project promoted by both, the Balearic Islands Labour Companies Association (AELIB) and IFOC, which consists of the creation of a company dedicated to the elaboration of products derived from almonds and which they have named it, 'Ametlàndia'.

The project 'Cream una empresa a la meva escola' (We make a company at my school) expects that pupils will develop entreprenurial attitudes and acquire autonomous habits and behaviour through the creation and the management of a labour society at school.

Also, it has favored the teamwork amongst the pupils through a cooperative methodology which favors the development of the necessary skills and attitudes to undertake: the solidarity, the team spirit, the sense of responsability and the improvement of both, the achievement and motivation.

The initiative, which has been carried out in an experimental way in our municipality, counts with the support of both, the Educational Innovation Service and the Regional Government´s General Management of Commerce and Companies.
