A total of fifteen voluntary divers participated, on Friday morning, in another deep sea cleaning session, organized by the Calvià Town Hall.
A total of fifteen voluntary divers participated, on Friday morning, in another deep sea cleaning session, organized by the Calvià Town Hall, specifically by the Calvià for the Climate Office, in collaboration with the Shark Divers Club, the company Teka, the Hotel Associations in the municipality and the marinas.
The fifteen divers, who took part, during almost four hours, in the cleaning session, took out from the Son Matías beach deep sea, a total of 850 kg of waste materials. Tins, glass bottles, tyres were found amongst the total amount of waste materials found.
The divers team counted with the support of two Civil Defence vessels which helped to remove the most heavy materials.
This summer´s clean-up novelty has been, the involvement of both tour operators, Thomas Cook and TUI, which have contributed with divers and with the spreading of leaflets regarding the actions carried out by the consistory, within this matter, with the associated hotels and tourists staying in said hotels.
