The collective exhibition of the local artists participating in the BetArt project (project of urban interventions in Calvià), can be visited at the Calvià Town Hall´s multi-purpose room as from Wednesday 12th September until 31st October



BetArt, is a new plastic arts project for the municipality which starts with 5 main objectives:



  • Carry out artistic interventions taking art to the street in order to find the interaction and the dialogue with both, the resident and the visitor

  • Guarantee the participation of creators of the municipality in said project

  • Create synergies amongst creators and public and private entities

  • Promote a new meeting space and of contact amongst artists, people interested in art, etc.

  • Add value to the municipality of Calvià creating new tourist attractions and embellishing private and public spaces, located strategically or exploit degraded spaces



The BetArt Calvià first edition´s outcome will consist of the carrying out in 2012 of 7 urban works of art which will become heritage of the municipality. 5 local artists and invited artists of national and international renown, will take part in its creation.



THE LOCAL ARTISTS

Antoine Garló

He was born in the summer of 1988 in Palma, versatile enthusiast of photography, the illustration, and the street Art.



He is completing his audiovisual technician studies. Both, his photos and illustrations, provided of great simplicity, are full of visual poetry in which shows his strong personal style.
He has participated in various graffiti contests and exhibitions, he has been finalist in painting and photography contests, and has collaborated in various artistic projects.



David Collado Pérez, "Shik"
Illustrator born in Palma de Mallorca, educated in the Design School of the Balearic Islands.



Great part of his works of art are graffitis and illustrations of various styles, which comprise from a figurative realism to urban works; all of them of a diverse theme, being usual the allusion to the animal world.

From an impresionistic side, with resources that evoke the oriental art, his works outstand for a marked use of the line over the shape and a symbolical use of colour in most of his art works.



Javier Garló

Modern Artist.Palma, 1980.

From the middle of the 90´s he is linked with the world of graffiti. Since then, he puts all his interest into all related to plastic arts.

In 2001, he started his Illustrator studies at the Design School of the Balearic Islands.

Actually his work is based in the illustration, graffiti, photography, video, without closing doors to other fields such as sculpture,etc.

SDS crew and Polla art are the groups which he has worked with.



Juan Ignacio Armeñanzas

Born in Córdoba, Argentina in 1981.

Artistic Degree, by the Palma de Mallorca´s School of Art.

Senior Technician in plastic arts, illustration speciality, by the Design School of the Balearic Islands.

Master´s Degree in Animation and in Image Synthesis by the University of the Balearic Islands.

Member of the group Polla Arte.

Professional experience as draftsman, graphic designer, infography and animation.
