Successful I Sustainable Mobility Open Days.

The "Ecodriving Calvià" I Sustainable Mobility Open Days, organised by the Balearic Government, the Calvià Council and the Santa Ponça Country Club, took place on 27th and 28th October.

The main aim of the Open Days organised at the Santa Ponça Country Club is to approach the different alternatives existing in mobility, economically more efficient and environmentally friendly such as the electric vehicles, hybrids and gas for self-propulsion to the citizens, companies and professionals.

The event counted with about twenty companies of the sector, which showcased more than 50 vehicles and which put at the attending public´s disposal more than 25 vehicles to be tested, amongst cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

Various talks forwarded to the attending public, have been carried out concurrently and during the Open Days at the Santa Ponça Country Club´s assembly hall, demystifying the difficulties of the sustainable mobility, and offering the alternatives existing in the market for each type of mobility necessity of the citizen, company or professional.

The Open Days had an extraordinary outcome with about 700 people participating in said event during the weekend, and in which more than 300 people tested the vehicles which were exhibited.

On the other hand, from an institutional point of view and within the "Ecodriving Calvià"´s framework, the Calvià Town Hall signed a collaboration agreement with the Balearic Government for the promotion of the electric vehicle´s regional emblem, through which the electric vehicles of the municipality will benefit of advantages such as the 75% discount in the Motor Vehicle Tax for all those 100% electric vehicles.

Also, the event was a magnificent opportunity to place Calvià at the top of the sustainable mobility in the Balearics, and fits with the Town Hall´s commitment with the Mayors´ Agreement to reduce a 20% the emissions of CO2 in the municipality.
