The Calvià Town Hall will offer up to a 95% discount in the municipal tax to all those existing or new creating companies which grant new stable labor contracts and which fight against the tourist seasonal standstill as well as to those generating new investments in the municipality. Said discounts will be applied to the IBI (Property Tax), IAE (Economic Activities Tax) and ICIO (Tax on Constructions and Facilities).

The objectives of this measure are the reduction, in a short term, of the number of unemployed Calvià inhabitants, improve the conditions of the exisitng job contracts and increase both, the duration of the tourist season and the private and stable investment in the municipality in order to create more activity.

The increase in the number of net workers with regards to previous years or the improvement in the quality of the existing contracts with regards to the duration and/or the type of contract (contracts with a minimum duration of 7 months to full-time contracts), also that workers have their effective residence in Calvià and that their workplace is located in the municipality are the requirements to obtain these fiscal incentives.

Each proposal will be thoroughly revised according to the benefit meaning for the municipality, focusing that interest, especially, in testing factors such as the number of workers under a contract, new lines of production or investments, the economic and social situation of the future workers as well as the duration of the contracts and their stability.

The consistory has achieved to develop this proposal thanks to the clean up of the public accounts, working intensively in the reduction and the control of the public spending through a budgetary control comission which is working since the beginning of the present legislature, and through a Tax Inspection Plan which is offering excelent results.
