Two training actions were carried out through the IFOC for workers of the tourist sector of the municipality with the aim of providing a better service to the clients.

For the third consecutive year, the Formative and Occupational Institute of Calvià (IFOC) in collaboration with the Municipal Tourist Information Offices of the municipality (OMIT), held two training actions last week under the name of “Calvià, tourist destination”, which taught about the tourist resources which the municipality provides as a tourist destination. The training actions were given by the staff of the Tourist Offices at the Sala Palmanova in two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, in order to facilitate the attendance to all those people interested.

The initiative arose from the request made by hotels of the municipality interested in training their public-facing employees with the aim of providing a better service to their clients. A total of 105 participants, all of whom are hotel and tourist apartment employees of the municipality, signed up for the event.

The most demanded topics by the tourists visiting us such as leisure, beaches, complementary offer, culture, places of interest, hiking, sport, etc, were covered at the talk. Thus, public-facing employees will not only provide a better service to the client but also will help to promote Calvià´s tourist offer, dynamizing the municipality´s business sector and promoting the consumption of local resources.
