The Town Hall's gardens have been the scenario chosen to hold the official presentation of GINTAPA CALVIÀ, event which main objective is to show the variety and quality of the municipality's gastronomic offer.

GINTAPA CALVIÀ will start on Thursday 31^st October, a collaborative project which main objective is to show the variety and quality of the gastronomic and cocktail offer of the municipality of Calvià.

The routes will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 31^st October until 23^rd November, in different points of the municipality.

1.- The organization

The project starts from the collaboration between Fundación Calvià 2004 and the Calvià Town Hall.

Thanks to the support received from the Agencia de turismo de Balears (Tourism Agency of the Balearic Islands) and from the sponsors Air Europa, Nordic Mist and M80 Radio, the project is now a reality and counts with guarantees of becoming a gastronomic referent for the municipality.

2.- The objetives

With Gintapa Calvià, it is expected to:

• Add value to the Calvià's gastronomic and cocktail varied offer.

• Boost the different areas of the municipality with public and private initiatives.

• Encourage the creativity of bars and restaurants of the municipality.

• Contribute to the consolidation of the gastronomic routes in the municipality.

3.- The development

The establishments participating in the Gintapa Calvià, will offer a tapa which they will have especially ellaborated for this event, the price of the tapa is 1€ and it will be served during the days in which the route passes through their area. Furthermore, the establishments will be able to offer a special Gin-tonic for the event, in this case, the price of the Gin-tonic (small glass) is 3€, whereas the price of the globe glass is 5€.

With this development, it is expected that the establishments show their best cocktail and gastronomic creations during the routes and also, they can opt to the prizes which are awarded for the different categories.

4.- The contest

Two different modalities of contests have been created with the aim of encouraging not only the participating establishments but also those people attending the routes.

Tapa and Gin-Tonic Social Media: All those people attending the routes will be able to vote the best tapa and the best Gin-tonic through the social network facebook (www.facebook.com/gintapacalvia ). Food and drink vouchers will be raffled amongst all the voting people.

Gintapa Calvià 2013 best tapa and best Gin-tonic: the participating establishments will hand out a gintapass to the “routers” with which they will be able to vote the best tapa and the best Gin-tonic.

Once the Gintapa 2013 is finished, the organization will proceed to the count of all the Gintapas and will announce the twelve finalists for each category who will dispute a final in which an expert jury will present the prizes.

The prizes are, two flight tickets offered by Air Europa.

5.- GINTAPA CALVIÀ Entertainment

The Gintapa will start in Palmanova and, during the course of four weekends, will offer us to try for a reasonable price the tapas and drinks which each of the establishments will delight us with.

But is not only about eating and drinking. In all the bars and restaurants, between 20 and 23 hours, we will be able to enjoy of various performances. Music, theatre, dance, magic... will pass by the bars to accompany us in the route.

Alex Tejedor, Arte en Rueda, Arantxa Andreu, Artimanya and many others will delight us accompanying us to the GINTAPA routes. Can you imagine? In each bar a performance, an emotion, a surprise...

Route 2, 3 and 4 (7^th , 8^th and 9^th November)

Route through the areas of Santa Ponça and el Toro

Route 5 and 6 (14^th , 15^th and 16^th November)

Route through the areas of Peguera and Calvià

Route 7 (21^st , 22^nd and 23^rd November)

Route through the areas of Portals, Costa d'en Blanes, Cas Catalá, Illetes
