Inauguration of the Peguera's weekly market.

The Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor for Commerce, Manuel Grille, and the councillor of Peguera, Cristina de León, has inaugurated this morning the Peguera's traditional market, which with more than 150 stands will be held every Tuesday between the Casa Pepe and Mercadona roundabouts.

The stands have been selected bearing in mind their products on sale, highlighting those traditional, artisan and ecological products; in conclusion, those products and items configuring a differentiated and a quality offer. Also, the Town Hall has taken into consideration the products on sale in order to avoid any possible direct competition with the businesses already existing in each area.

Tha market arises from the idea of dinamizing the economic activity of the municipality and boost the commercialisation of regional products apart from being a tourist promotion element. It is also a historical request of the neighbours.

The next market inaguration will take place at the end of March in Santa Ponça.
