The Galatzó Public Estate will be the starting point of a renowned mountain event and for which counts with more than 500 people registered from all over the world

The Hotel Villamil has been this morning the place chosen to present the second edition of the K-42 Paguera-Mallorca mountain athletic event, which will take place this forthcoming Sunday and which has the Galatzó Public Estate as the starting point of the race.

More than 500 athletes have confirmed their participation in this 2014 edition, in which some of the best international and national mountain runners are amongst them, such as Tom Owens, Cristofer Clemente, Miguel Heras, Ángela Mudge, Raúl Cámara and the Majorcan Angie Rigo, Miquel Capó and Tófol Castañer.

A programme of activities surrounding the Paguera Mountain Week sport event has been prepared with the aim of adding value and promote internationally the natural heritage of the municipality. As from yesterday and until the forthcoming Sunday 23rd March, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy of different activities related to mountain: conferences on mountain rescue, demonstrations of climbing, projections, photography contest, mountain fair, concerts and the development of two sport events associated to K42, the K21, the mountain half-marathon and the Kilómetro vertical (vertical kilometre).

Both, the K42 Mallorca and the Paguera Mountain Week are possible thanks to the public and private collaboration. The company Projectes i execucions Balears is in front of this project, with the support of the Calvià Town Hall, the Fundación Calvià 2004, the Hoteliers Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells, Tots per la Serra and the Balearic Island's Regional Ministry for Tourism through their agency ATB.
