I Police Canine Unit Conference.

The Sala Palmanova hosted this morning the presentation of the first Police Canine Unit Conference and which counts with the participation of more than 90 police officers coming from various points of the country. The Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, has been the one in charge of inaugurating the working days.

Different speeches and round tables with the presence of municipal police officers of Madrid and Bilbao, as well as the Guardia Civil's Canine Experts Service, will take place during these three days. Also, a display of canine units will take place on Saturday morning at the Torà beach in Peguera.

The Local Police of Calvià is the organizer of this conference addressed to police officers who, within their service, use trained dogs. It is to be recalled that, since year 2010, the police force of the municipality has a canine unit, becoming pioneer in this sense amongst the local police departments of the Balearic Islands.

With the organization of this conference on the police dogs of the municipality it is expected to, amongst other things, share experiences with other security forces who also work with dogs.
