About six thousand pupils have passed through the School since 1984. The 30th Anniversary celebration event will take place on 21st June at the Peguera Auditorium.

About six thousand pupils have passed through the School of Music since 1984 until the current year, which means an average of 200 pupils per course, with ages which range from five to sixty years old. Some of them have joined the Music Band, in which they have continued practising the instrument in performances carried out throughout Mallorca and Valencia, a total of 733 amongst concerts and parades. 171 musicians have been part of the Band since its first director Josep Rubio y Amengual proposed its creation in 1984, specifically on 10th June:«Motion proclaimed by the councillor Mr. Rubio Amengual in the Plenary Session for the creation of both, a municipal school and band of music of Calvià...». The motion was approved unanimously.

The directors of the Municipal School of Music of Calvià have been Josep Rubio y Amengual (1984-1997), Francesc Bonnín y Socias (1997-2001), Bàrbara Pallicer y Barceló (2001-2005), Elena Pintado Málaga (2005-2013) and Josep Oliver y Rubio, who is the current director. Amongst the directors, Bàrbara Pallicer y Josep Oliver are ex pupils of the School of Music and have been members of the Band to which Josep has reincorporated.

The directors of the Band have been Josep Rubio y Amengual (1984-1997), Antoni Maties Moreno (1997-1998), Jean Christoph Brunet 1998, Mario Errea del Pago 1999-2012 and Jordi Miralles Calabuig (current director since 2013).

Both, the Municipal School of Music and the Municipal Band have established a School and a Band which lead the average age of the rest on the island and which have been able to develop with methods and systems of quality. Now, the Municipal Music Service has widened to other musical alternatives such as the Escuela de Ball de Bot (traditional dancing school), the Choir of Calvià, the Children's Choir and the Xeremiers of Calvià, amongst others.

Since the Municipal School of Music and the Municipal Music Band began, the management of the Municipal Music Service is responsibility of the Department of Culture of the Calvià Town Hall and has been managed by the Asociación Cultural y Musical Pere Josep Canyelles.
