The insignias already fly on the beaches of Palmira, Torà , Romana, Santa Ponça, Son Matías, Palmanova, Es Carregador, Oratori, Cala Vinyes and Ses Penyes Rotges.
The Deputy Mayor for Coast Lines and Beaches, Daniel Perpiñá, chaired today the official display of the ten Blue Flags which this year will fly on the beaches of the municipality. This sign for quality, which the Foundation for the Environmental Education (FEE) yearly awards not only for the quality of the water but also for the quality of the beach services which, in Calvià, improve every year with the aim of maintaining the extraordinary international image which the 54 KM of coast is privileged with, and which the municipality counts with.
The insignias already fly on the beaches of Palmira, Torà, Romana, Santa Ponça, Son Matías, Palmanova, Es Carregador, Oratori, Cala Vinyes and Ses Penyes Rotges and therefore, the municipality of Calvià is, again, at the top of the ranking of places on the Balearics holding more Blue Flags (as well as placing in second place nationwide) and, also, this Summer counts with five "Q" for Tourist Quality, specifically in Palmanova, Palmira, Santa Ponça, Es Carregador and Son Matías.
It is to be recalled that, in the last years, the municipality is achieving prestige internationalwide thanks to its commitment with the accessible tourism. In fact, four beaches are totally adapted: Son Matías, El Toro, Palmanova and Santa Ponça. All of them provided with wood paths, adapted toilets, shaded areas and delimited spaces for people with reduced mobility.
The municipal government team, directed by Manuel Onieva, has shown its satisfaction for the International recognition for the work carried out on the Calvià beaches while has highlighted that they will improve the efforts to maintain them in perfect quality, health, accessibility and cleanliness conditions.
