Three of the new spaces destined to dogs are now finalised. The adaptation of the six remaining will see the light in the forthcoming days. More than 9.500 m2 have been aimed at said effect.
The Calvià Town Hall has presented this morning one of the nine canine parks planned in the municipality and to which it has been earmarked 9.585m2 of public land so pets can play, do exercise and their necessities, under the supervision of their owners.
The spaces are located in Son Ferrer (Ocells del Paradís St.), in Magaluf (Germans Pinzón St.), in Peguera (Monte St.), in Es Castellot (Huguet des Far St.), in Santa Ponça (Isabel la Católica St.), in El Toro (Neptuno Avenue), in Palmanova (Germans Moncada St.), in Son Caliu (Mar Carib St.) and in the República de Bendinat Avenue.
The average area of the parks approaches 1.000 m2 which will be delimited with a fence, will be provided with adapted fountains for dogs and people and with collection and cleaning systems. The cleaning tasks will be carried out by the public company Calvià 2000.
The total amount destined to canine parks ascends to 30.000 euros and it is expected that they dont only function as simple “disposal areas” for dogs, having a greater extension than the traditional parks, thus ableing the pets to also do exercise and play.
