The Town Hall, within the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the most representative festivity of the municipality, inaugurates this Thursday 21st August an exhibition which will review the history of the festivity.

The Calvià Town Hall, through the Department of Culture, and within the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the most representative festivitity of the municipality, the rei En Jaume, inaugurates this coming Thursday 21st August at the consistory's exhibition room an exhibition which will review the history of the festivity.

At the exhibition you will be able to find panels which will place the visitor in key moments of the rei En Jaume Festivities through photographs and explanations of what this celebration means for the municipality. Also, you will be able to see the banners of the different “collas” (groups) which participate or have participated in the parades as well as the festivities imagery: giants, traditional costumes, little horses, etc and the original music of this fiesta. A brief historical presentation will give way to the itinerary, marking the landing's most emblematic locations.

The intention of the consistory is to make from this exhibition an itinerant exhibition when this one finishes (on 24th October) through the Education and Cultural Centres of Calvià to approach, even more if possible, the history of the rei En Jaume Festivities to the young people and the rest of the municipality.

As from this event and as a novelty, the Town Hall's Exhibition Room will open its doors in the afternoons as up to now it could only be visited during mornings. Thus, all those people willing to visit any of the exhibitions carried out in the Town Hall will be able to do so on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
