It becomes the first official park for mountain bikes (MTB) in Mallorca and in the Balearic Islands, following in the footsteps of countries such as Germany, France or Switzerland

The Deputy Mayor for Tourism of Calvià Town Hall, Eugenia Frau, accompanied by the councillor for Peguera, Cristina de León, inaugurated last Tuesday the Trailpark of the municipality of Calvià, thus becoming the first official space for mountain bikes (MTB) in Mallorca and in the Balearic Islands. Members of the German company Rad Internacional, the ones in charge of designing the routes and maps aimed at the enjoyment of the mountain cyclists, were also present in the event.

Mountain biking is booming and this it is shown not only in the market of this type of bycicles but also in the number of travel reservations to places where these activities are offered. For this reason, Calvià has bet heavily for this type of sport and, thanks to the public/private collaboration ratified through the agreement with Rad Internacional, trails have been prepared and the corresponding informative panels and signals have been placed.

During the event Eugenia Frau highlighted "our main objective and for which we are working since the beginning of this legislature is to extend the tourist season, for that reason each and every proposal and initiative that help us to achieve this objective will count with our support and effort" highlighting the commitment and collaboration with Rad Internacional.

Also, Frau highlighted the commitment of the consistory for outdoor sports with a deseasonalising objective "the Town Hall has widen, in these years, its cycling and hiking offer, promoting towards the source markets the great possibilities that our incomparable sports facilities can provide".
