The activated service, which counts with three police officers, is addressed to prevent and solve problems linked to the minors schooling in the three secondary education centres of the municipality.

The Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, together with the Regional Minister for Public Administrations of the Balearic Government, Juan Manuel Lafuente, has presented this morning the Tutor Police programme, which is functioning in the municipality since the start of the 2014/2015 academic year.

The service activated in the municipality of Calvià, which counts with three police officers, is addressed to prevent and solve problems linked to the minors schooling in the secondary education centres of the municipality, that is to say, in the IES Calvià, IES Bendinat and IES Son Ferrer.

The Tutor Police is a member of the Local Police educated specifically to cooperate in the solution of conflicts and to facilitate the management of these problems, including all those risk conducts related to minors inside the shcools.

These police officers give service in the Children, Primary and Secondary Education Centres and work in permanent collaboration with the municipal social services, child protection, court, Minors' Prosecuting Office and, aboveall, with the administrative staff teams of the school centres.

Also, the tutor police officers of the islands are coordinated amongst them through a representative of the municipalities integrated in each of the 8 coordination councils of Local Police Officers, who are the ones who contact directly with the Regional Ministry.

This way, it is quicker and more practical to share and contrast problems amongst different territorial areas of the islands and have a direct influx of communication with the General Administration of the Interior, Emergencies and Justice.
