Display of the 8 Q for quality flags and the 8 blue flags on the beaches of Calvià.
The Mayor of Calvià and the entire government team have attended the flag display event of the Q for quality and blue flags which this year have been granted to the beaches of the municipality. In total, the beaches have been awarded with 8 Q flags and 8 blue flags.
The beaches obtaining the Q flags have been: Oratori, Es Carregador, Palmanova, Son Maties, Ses Penyes Roges, Santa Ponça, Torà and Palmira. Whereas the beaches of Oratori, Es Carregador, Palmanova, Son Maties, Ses Penyes Roges, Santa Ponça, Romana and Torà have obtained the blue flag.
On the beach of Palmanova, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal showed his gratitute to the work undertaken by all the collectives and people involved in the maintenance, the care and the improvement of the beaches. He thanked the Civil Protection members, the Local Police, the beach awardees, the Hoteliers Association, the Tourist Traders Association, Calvià 2000, the departments of Coast Lines and Environment, and all those people who make possible that the beaches of the municipality conserve their quality standards.
Previously, a minute of silence took place in memory of Mario Rubén Domijan, beach guard of Palmanova beach, who deceased in December 2014.
