The Mayor thanks the institution's interest in collaborating with the municipality and passes over, amongst other matters, the necessity of giving a solution to the noise of Costa d'en Blanes highway.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, held a meeting with the Regional Councillor for Territory and Infrastructures, Mercedes Garrido, to deal matters of interest for the municipality of Calvià. In this first contact, the Mayor thanked the Regional Councillor's interest on the matters set out which have summed up into the will of collaboration of both institutions.
One of the matters put on the table is the necessity of giving an answer to the request made by the neighbourhood of Costa den Blanes to install sound barriers in the sides of a section of the Andratx highway which causes noise troubles to the adjacent housing. The Mayor has appreciated the good predisposition to face this matter, therefore a formal request will be made from the Town Hall to undertake the studies to give a solution to this problem.
The Galatzó Public Estate has been another of the issues dealt. The intention of the Calvià Town Hall is that the Estate becomes the real entrance to the Serra de Tramuntana within the scope of the declaration as a World Heritage Site by the Unesco. Therefore they have agreed to establish a way of collaboration, which will also be established with the department of Environment, to analyse the request of Calvià to give coverage and promote the estate through different actions, such the one proposed by the municipal institution to connect Calvià with the Ruta de Pedra en Sec through the Galatzó public estate, and to create a shelter in one of the already existing buildings.
The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Commerce and Urban Planning, Antonio García Moles; the Town Hall's general director for Urban Planning and Environment, Jaume Carbonero, and the technical secretary of the Territory's insular department, Jaume Colom were also at the meeting.
