The period to registrate in the A1 and A2 levels of the Catalan courses, which the Calvià Town Hall offers through the agreement with the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics, starts today.

As every other year, the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics announces Catalan courses from October to January addressed to the citizens. Apart form the courses undertaken directly through its own services, the IEB also offers to the different Town Halls of the Islands, the possibility to, through agreement, collaborate organising courses in their respective municipalities. For this reason, within the frame of these agreements, and within the announcement corresponding to October 2015- January 2016, the Calvià Town Hall, this year, organises two courses, one for level A1 and another for level A2, addressed to those citizens who do not have or have little knowledge of Catalan.


The period to enrol for the Catalan courses starts today 7th September finishing on the forthcoming 21st September; and the enrolment conditions and the characteristics of the courses are as follows:

 

Levels: A1 and A2, face-to-face modality


Addressed to:

 

Level A1: course addressed to new arrival people or without notions of Catalan, people who neither understand nor speak the language, or who can understand it but they can not speak it. The Regional Council for Education, Culture and Universities does not certify this level.

 

Level A2: course addressed to people with little knowledge of Catalan who would like to communicate in simple situations which require a simple and direct exchange of information about immediate necessity matters. Prepares for the A2 certificate of the Regional Council for Education, Culture and Universities.


Date and duration of the courses: they start on 5th October 2015 finishing on 22nd January 2016, with a total of 80 hours distributed in three weekly sessions of two hours each one.

Registration fee: 60 €. 50% reduction on the registration fee in the following cases:


-Be unemployed

-Receive a public pension

-Be imprisoned in a penitentiary centre

-Be a large family member

-Have a 33% or superior disability

-Be provided with the (European Youth Card) Carné Joven Europeo (for instance the Carnet Jove <26)
